Iceland

We went to Iceland. It was awesome. We decided earlier this year to escape the rains of November for Iceland... And its frigidly short days. We departed the tuesday before thanksgiving, after the airline unfroze (no joke) our planes tires from the asphalt. We arrived early wednesday morning and promptly boarded a bus for the blue lagoon spa, and three hours of warm watery heaven. We lounged in geothermally heated water, scrubbed our faces with naturally occuring silica salt (?), and became utterly relaxed after the 8hr flight. That afternoon we headed for the town and the real beginning of our adventure.

The slideshow below should cover most of that pretty well, so let me say that - if the picture is of coffee, it was delicious; if the picture is of the city, it was cool/interesting/historic/charming/fun/super hip; if the picture is of food, it was the very best ##### that we have ever tasted (especially the hotdogs and lobster); amd if the picture is of the landscape or a natural wonder it was utterly indescribable and my words could not, nor do my pictures really, convey just how beautiful it all was. Enjoy!

We would love to return to Iceland in the summer, rent a 4WD, and explore the interior which is more remote, rugged, and beautiful than the coast. We highly recommend this to anyone looking for a travel destination.

Besides the obvious Northern Lights pics, my favorite picture is the one where the camera is below your two heads and Hallgrimskirkja is behind your heads. Awesome shot!
